SFAI U12 Cup – First Round Athboy 1–2 OMP Whit SFAI U12 Cup – First Round
Athboy 1–2 OMP White (AET)

On a rain-soaked Saturday morning in Athboy, our U12 White team kicked off their SFAI Cup campaign – and what a game it turned out to be!

The match started at a frantic pace, with both sides pushing hard for goals but defences standing strong. For OMP, the back line of David, Jack, Cian, and later Jake, were excellent, while Charlie was his usual reliable self in goal, setting the tone for a solid performance.

In midfield, James, Kai, Michael, Leo, and Conor worked tirelessly, while up front Niall and Padraig constantly stretched the Athboy defence and created numerous chances.

Athboy struck first, taking the lead about 15 minutes in. Despite plenty of effort, OMP couldn’t find the equaliser before the break and went in 1–0 down at half-time.

The second half began brightly, with OMP on top. The equaliser finally came when Cian Reilly finished superbly after a brilliant cross from Conor. Both teams pressed for a winner, but the match ended level and went to extra time.

Just as penalties loomed, OMP found the decisive moment. With a minute to play, Niall picked up the ball wide on the left and whipped in a fantastic cross to the back post, where Leo arrived and buried it into the bottom corner. Cue wild celebrations from the players, management, and travelling supporters!

A dramatic ending to a thrilling game of football – well done boys, and best of luck to Athboy for the rest of their season. OMP march on to the next round!

Another busy night for our OMP United U7s, who took on Enfield in the MDL and hosted Trim Celtic and Trim Town at Marys Park. Across all games, our young Reds showed great spirit, teamwork, and flashes of real quality.

🔥 In the MDL, debutant Amad S made an instant impact—covering every inch of the pitch with his incredible engine and capping it off with a superb long-range goal. A memorable first outing and a well-deserved Player of the Match!

🏟️ At Marys Park, Finn K was in flying form, combining silky skills with relentless work rate. He’s growing into a real team player and earned POTM for his all-round contribution.

👏 We’re absolutely delighted with how these players—and the whole squad—are developing. The effort, attitude, and love for the game are plain to see.

Under 15 Division 3 League OMP 3-2 Walshestown On Under 15 Division 3 League
OMP 3-2 Walshestown

On a bright Sunday morning, OMP completed their league fixtures with an entertaining 3-2 victory over Louth rivals Walshestown.

The game opened with some excellent football from both sides, producing chances at either end. A sustained spell of OMP pressure led to a series of corners, and the breakthrough came when they were awarded a penalty for handball. Daragh stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to give OMP a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The second half began just as lively, with both teams pushing forward. OMP, having made substitutions at the break, maintained the high tempo and doubled their advantage. Tireless pressing from Conor forced a mistake from the Walshestown keeper, which Conor pounced on to make it 2-0.

Walshestown fought back immediately, pulling one back with a superb strike from the edge of the box that gave Ryan no chance. With the game back in the balance, up stepped Ruairi to produce a moment of magic. After great link-up play from Caleb, Sean and Eamon, the ball rolled to Ruairi on the edge of the box. He unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top corner — a contender for goal of the season.

Walshestown added a late reply with a sublime free-kick finish, but OMP held on to secure a deserved 3-2 win.

Well done to all 16 players involved on the day.

A special mention goes to Alex, who, after a serious knee operation following an injury sustained against Termonfeckin, joined the lads to watch the match. Everyone at the club wishes him the very best on his road to recovery.
U15 Premier OMP United 5 – 4 Mullingar FC On a U15 Premier
OMP United 5 – 4 Mullingar FC

On a super morning in OMP, both teams started brightly in what turned out to be a thrilling game. Mullingar struck first with a couple of excellent goals, but Shane and Joe pulled it back level at 2–2 just before the break. Mullingar edged ahead again with another great strike to lead 3–2 at halftime.

OMP grew stronger as the game went on, with Oliwier firing home the equaliser to make it 3–3. Mullingar responded with yet another unbelievable goal to go ahead 4–3, but the lads showed great character. Carlos pounced in the box to tap home and bring it back to 4–4.

The closing minutes were end to end, but it was Shane who broke free down the left and unleashed a stunning curling effort to seal a dramatic 5–4 victory.

A super performance from the boys today despite numbers being low. Man of the Match goes to Shane, who worked tirelessly and won it with that special goal at the end.

Thanks, as always, for the support. Best of luck to Mullingar for the rest of the season.
U12 Division 6 League Champions 🏆⚽ What a se U12 Division 6 League Champions 🏆⚽

What a season it has been so far! 13 games, 13 wins — an unbelievable league campaign where the lads didn’t drop a single point. They’re still in the Bowl, yet to play in the SFAI, and head into those competitions full of confidence and positivity.

In the Cup, they put in a brilliant performance to beat Dunshaughlin (Division 2) before narrowly losing out to Athboy Premier on penalties in Round 2. Along the way, this team has already lifted silverware — winning the Kingscourt Cup back in October and the Johnstown Shield in March — and now they’ve added the Division 6 League Title to their growing list of achievements.

They are a fantastic bunch of lads to coach, putting in tremendous work all year, and we as coaches couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. This morning, when they received the league trophy, it created a memory that will last a lifetime.

A massive shoutout to the parents and families — your support is what makes all of this possible. It’s been a huge effort from everyone involved, and who knows what the rest of the season will bring. Thank you all — and well done boys! 👏👏
Match Report – U14 Boys Premier Our U14 Boys Pre Match Report – U14 Boys Premier
Our U14 Boys Premier team produced a fantastic performance in a 5–2 victory over Park Celtic.

After a competitive first half, we went into the break 1–0 up thanks to a well-worked goal. In the second half, the boys really stepped it up, playing with intensity and moving the ball superbly. The goals began to flow, with David in outstanding form up front, scoring a superb hat-trick. Ciaran and Ruairi also got on the scoresheet with excellent finishes to cap off some fine team moves.

At the back, Adam was immense, leading by example and dominating defensively throughout. Hugh made a strong impact when introduced, while Dan impressed in midfield with three excellent assists, showing great vision and composure on the ball.

This was a true all-round team performance, full of hard work, quality, and togetherness – a brilliant effort from the boys!

OMP came out firing from the very first minute and dominated throughout the game. An early breakthrough came when Anna M pounced on a loose ball and calmly slotted it into the bottom corner to make it 1–0.

The girls showed great determination, with excellent tackling, sharp passing, and total control of possession. Their teamwork shone through, and they never let Kentstown settle into the game.

In the second half, Anna M doubled her tally with another well-taken goal before Chloe L sealed the victory with OMP’s third.

The whole squad displayed incredible work rate, commitment, and desire from start to finish. Player of the Match deservedly went to Anna M, but every one of the 12 players could have taken the award today.

Park Celtic Summerhill 1 – 2 OMP Black

OMP Black continued their fine run of form with a hard-fought victory away to an excellent Park Celtic side this morning. Played in perfect conditions, the match was a pulsating encounter from start to finish.

OMP started on the front foot, pressing high and forcing mistakes in the Park Celtic half. Their pressure was rewarded when Jake pounced on the rebound from a thunderous Darragh Halpen strike to put OMP ahead. The visitors doubled their lead soon after through Darragh himself, who was unlucky not to complete a first-half hat trick before the break.

The second half saw Park Celtic respond strongly as OMP legs began to tire. A flowing move down the right earned the home side a well-deserved goal to reduce the deficit. From then on, it was all about resilience as wave after wave of Park Celtic attacks were met with brave defending and outstanding performances from Tadgh, Sean, Tom, and Darragh.

Goalkeeper Alexander produced two sensational saves to keep OMP in front as the pressure mounted. Despite a frantic finale, OMP’s determination and growing confidence carried them over the line to secure a brilliant away win.

Final score: Park Celtic Summerhill 1 – 2 OMP Black
Another step forward for this impressive OMP side — and on we go again!
U12 OMP United vs Kells Celtic OMP United came fl U12 OMP United vs Kells Celtic

OMP United came flying out of the blocks in this clash with Kells Celtic, creating a number of early chances. Ben and Sean were both lively up front, testing the Kells goalkeeper with some excellent strikes. However, the visiting shot-stopper was in fine form and kept the game level at 0–0.

Midway through the second half, Kells began to grow into the game and pushed hard for the opener. Their persistence paid off when they found the net with just ten minutes left to play.

Despite the setback, OMP showed fantastic character. The lads refused to drop their heads and piled pressure back onto the Kells defence. A dramatic moment came when Sean looked certain to equalise, only to be caught by the goalkeeper while attempting a header. Much to OMP’s frustration, the decision didn’t go their way, and Kells broke quickly on the counterattack.

Even with time against them, OMP battled right until the final whistle, showing resilience and determination. On another day, the boys could easily have scored three or four goals.

The coaches were full of praise afterwards: “We’re super proud of this young group of lads. Everyone played at such a high level today—it was impossible to pick just one Man of the Match.”

👏 Well done, OMP United!

🔴⚫ Behind OMP | Sandra – Club Registrations 🔴⚫ Behind OMP | Sandra – Club Registrations ⚫🔴

This week in our Behind OMP series, we’re highlighting one of the key people who keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, Sandra, who manages player registrations for the entire club.

🗣️ “This is my third year being involved with registrations at OMP. I first got involved when Richie reached out looking for admin help, and I was happy to support the club, especially since my son plays with the U14 team.”

As anyone who’s navigated youth football knows, registrations are no small task:

“My main role is making sure every player is fully registered and up to date with FAI requirements. That means collecting and submitting documentation, liaising with parents and coaches, and assigning players to the right teams through FAI Connect once everything is finalised.”

Despite the admin load, it’s the club spirit that makes it all worthwhile:

“I love the sense of community and pride. It’s amazing to know your child is involved in a club with such dedicated coaches, and the friendships and memories it brings for both kids and parents will last a lifetime.”⚽️

Sandra’s favourite OMP memory?

“The SFAI U13 semi-final in Cork, April 2024. A bus full of excited players, families, and supporters headed to Wilton. We may not have won, but the pride, community, and togetherness we felt that day was unforgettable.”

And her dream superpower for OMP?

“To wave a magic wand and see an influx of new volunteers who are passionate and excited to give back, no matter how big or small. And for a cherry on top... a trophy room extension!” 🏆

Thank you Sandra, for all the hard work you put in behind the scenes! OMP couldn’t run without you! 🔴⚫
