U15 Subway National Cup – Round 3 OMP 2-1 Walshe U15 Subway National Cup – Round 3
OMP 2-1 Walshestown

It was a real cup clash between both teams. OMP dominated the first 20 minutes of the game in poor conditions but were unable to create any clear-cut chances. Walshtown came into the game and seemed to break the deadlock, only for the goal to be ruled offside.

In the second half, Walshtown opened the scoring with a fantastic top-corner strike. OMP never gave up and continued to press. Alex came on and made an immediate impact, scoring to bring OMP back into the game.

The match went to extra time, where OMP grew stronger and pushed for the winner. Their persistence paid off in the second half of extra time when Darragh scored the decisive goal.

Best for OMP: Jack M, Jack S, and Darragh
Man of the Match: Jack M – solid in defence and making some brilliant challenges.
U12 Bowl Quarter-Final: OMP White 5–2 Athboy OM U12 Bowl Quarter-Final: OMP White 5–2 Athboy

OMP White have advanced to the semi-final of the U12 Bowl after a fantastic performance in challenging conditions at St Mary’s Park. From the outset, OMP started at a frantic pace, creating numerous chances through Niall, James, and Cian. Leo opened the scoring with a close-range finish, followed by a second goal from James after excellent build-up play involving Dara and Micheal. This gave OMP a 2-0 lead at halftime.

After the break, OMP continued to play entertaining football but were caught out as Athboy pulled one back with a spectacular strike from their midfielder. To OMP’s credit, the team remained composed, with Charlie solid in goal and the backline of Dara, Jack, Eduardo, Padraig, Jake, and David holding firm.

OMP pressed forward and were rewarded when Leo scored his second, rounding the keeper and finishing calmly after superb interplay involving Conor, Micheal, James, and Cian. Athboy responded with another long-range effort, giving Charlie no chance, but OMP kept pushing. Leo completed his hat-trick with a well-taken volley following great work from Micheal and Niall, and the fifth goal came from an own goal after sustained pressure from Niall.

A tough day at Kentstown, but the lads showed real heart! ❤️🖤

Seán scored twice — first with a curling corner that zipped straight into the net, then capitalising on a poor back pass to level 2–2. Kyle was outstanding in goal, pulling off multiple top-class saves, while Ben electrified the wing and Cathal & Fionn battled tirelessly in midfield. Shay and Seán pressed defenders to the final whistle.

Kentstown eventually edged ahead 4–2, but OMP never gave up, showing fight and quality throughout. Plenty of positives to take into the next round! ❤️🖤

From the very first kick-off, the OMP girls took complete control of the game, winning the first and second balls despite the poor conditions. Chloe L started up front on her own and used her pace brilliantly, running onto several well-timed through balls and finishing confidently to score a first-half hat-trick.

Every player worked extremely hard. The defence was solid throughout, and in midfield Isabelle was immense, constantly breaking up play and driving the team forward.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with OMP dominating possession, though Parkvilla did create one or two moments of danger which Freya dealt with. Chloe L added her fourth goal of the match — taking her personal tally to 25 competitive goals this season — to seal the win, continuing to tirelessly chase down the Parkvilla defence. Sophia also had a standout performance, dominating alongside Daisy and Cara. It was a superb all-round team display.

Player of the Match was difficult to call, but the honours go to Chloe L and Isabelle for their outstanding contributions.

OMP United Secure 3–1 Victory Over Drogheda Town OMP United Secure 3–1 Victory Over Drogheda Town in S.F.A.I. Trophy

OMP United produced a fantastic all-round display to secure a well-deserved 3–1 win away to Drogheda Town in the second round of the S.F.A.I. Trophy. From the first whistle, the visitors showed attacking intent, dominating large spells of the game and creating numerous chances.

The breakthrough came from Cian, who cut in brilliantly from the left wing before calmly slotting past the Drogheda goalkeeper. OMP continued to press, and their efforts were rewarded when John unleashed a stunning long-range strike that left the keeper with no chance. The third goal arrived courtesy of Michael, who cut in from the left and finished with composure to make it 3–0.

Drogheda pulled one back late in the game through a counterattack, but it proved only a consolation as OMP controlled proceedings for the majority of the match. The visitors’ attacking play was consistently dangerous, with Leo and Seán creating multiple chances that were denied by fine saves from the Drogheda goalkeeper, while the woodwork also came to the home side’s rescue on more than one occasion.

While several players impressed throughout the match, including John and Ethan, the Man of the Match award went to Kevinas. His commanding presence at centre-back held the defence firm, while his leadership and composure helped drive the team forward, ensuring OMP maintained control from start to finish.
Match Report: OMP Under-12 Black vs Kells Celtic ( Match Report: OMP Under-12 Black vs Kells Celtic (Bowl Group C)
OMP Under-12 Black faced Kells Celtic today in a tough Bowl Group C encounter.
The first half was evenly contested, with OMP creating several good chances but unable to find the breakthrough. Despite their efforts, they went into the break 2–0 down — a scoreline that felt harsh given how well they had played.
The second half saw Kells Celtic apply sustained pressure, and unfortunately, a series of questionable refereeing decisions added to OMP’s frustration. As the game wore on, the lads’ spirits dropped, and in the closing stages they conceded three more goals — including an unfortunate own goal and a very dubious penalty.
It was a day when little seemed to go right for OMP, but the effort and commitment from the players couldn’t be questioned. The final scoreline didn’t reflect the balance of play or the determination shown throughout.
Best for OMP: Alexander, Alex B, Cian T, and Sean — who never stopped running and battling for the team.
All in all, a tough day at the office for OMP, but plenty of positives to build on as we move forward.

Ardee 4–1 OMP White
OMP travelled to Ardee this morning and came away on the wrong side of a 4–1 defeat. The team started slowly and found themselves 3–0 down within the first 20 minutes, leaving a mountain to climb.
However, the lads showed great character — finishing the first half strongly and dominating large spells of the second. Charlie was solid between the posts, while Jack, Dara, Pádraig, and Jake worked hard to keep Ardee at bay.
In midfield, Kai, James, Cian, Michael, Conor, and David battled tirelessly to get OMP back into the game. Up front, Leo and Niall led the line brilliantly, pressing high and linking play well.
OMP’s persistence paid off when Leo pulled one back with about 15 minutes to go, following fantastic work from Kai to set up the chance. The team continued to push forward in numbers, creating more opportunities, but the Ardee goalkeeper and defence held firm to see out the final minutes.
A day of ups and downs for our lads — plenty of positives to take and lessons learned. Best of luck to Ardee in the next round.

OMP United delivered a dominant display from start to finish, securing a comprehensive 6–0 victory over Ballyhaise Celtic.
The defensive line stood firm for the full 90 minutes, staying composed and organized to deny Ballyhaise any real chances.
In midfield, Daragh McGuinness and Cian Cantwell put in outstanding performances. Daragh led by example, scoring twice and providing an assist, while Cian added a goal and an assist of his own, controlling the tempo throughout.
An early substitution saw Mikey Denning replace Colm Barry in the first half, and Mikey immediately made an impact. His relentless pressure on the opposition’s defence and sharp attacking runs caused constant problems. His efforts were rewarded with a goal and an assist — capping off a brilliant all-round display.
Every player gave their all today, and the team’s hard work was reflected in the scoreline.

Competition: 12s Premier B Shield
Date: 1 November 2025
Venue: Parkvilla (Home)

OMP United faced a strong Parkvilla side in the Premier B Shield on Saturday, and despite a 5–1 scoreline, there were plenty of positives to take from a spirited team performance.

The home team started brightly, putting OMP under sustained pressure in the opening stages. OMP’s goalkeeper was called into action several times and produced a series of excellent saves to keep his side in contention.

After eight weeks out, Fionn made a welcome return to action, delivering a solid display in midfield. His energy, composure, and intelligent passing helped OMP settle and regain some control as the game went on.

Sean was a constant threat down the wing, using his pace and skill to trouble the Parkvilla defence. He created several good chances, including a fine cross that Ben was unlucky not to convert. When introduced, Reyko also impressed — playing tidy, confident football and defending bravely under pressure.

Parkvilla’s goalkeeper had an outstanding game, notably saving a penalty that would have offered OMP a way back into the match. However, OMP’s persistence was finally rewarded when Sean capped his excellent performance with a well-worked goal — a deserved moment of success for the visitors.

Although the match finished 5–1 in Parkvilla’s favour, OMP United can take heart from their determination, teamwork, and flashes of quality. With continued effort and focus, this performance provides a strong foundation to build on for the games ahead.

🏆 U11 White Retain Dun na Rí Cup in Dramatic F 🏆 U11 White Retain Dun na Rí Cup in Dramatic Fashion! 🏆

Our U11 White team travelled to Kingscourt today to take part in the Dun na Rí Cup — a competition they famously won 12 months ago. And it was well worth the trip, as the boys retained their title in dramatic style yet again!

In the group stage, they faced tough opposition in Kingscourt, Carrick, and Shamrocks, but topped the group on goal difference to advance to the Cup semi-final.

The semi-final brought a meeting with Square Utd, and after a strong performance, OMP came out on top with a 2–1 victory, booking their place in the Cup Final against a very talented Bellurgan side.

The final was a thrilling contest that couldn’t be decided in normal time, leading to the dreaded penalty shootout. Our lads stood firm under pressure, and when Player of the Match Charlie saved Bellurgan’s final penalty, it sparked wild celebrations among the OMP players, coaches, and supporters as they secured back-to-back tournament wins!

A huge credit goes to Paul and everyone involved with Kingscourt Harps for providing fantastic facilities and running a brilliant tournament.

Well done to everyone who contributed — from all at OMP!
