OMP United Reserves 7-2 Balrath FC A massive thre OMP United Reserves 7-2 Balrath FC

A massive three points for OMP Reserves as they produced an outstanding performance to defeat league leaders Balrath FC.

OMP dominated from the start and took the lead through Kevin Jasinski before he quickly added a second after a great through ball from captain Graham Hilly. Hilly then got on the scoresheet himself, with Michael Guihean providing the assist, to make it 3-0 before Balrath pulled one back before half-time.

The second half continued in the same fashion as Jasinski completed his hat-trick, followed by a Balrath own goal forced by OMP's relentless pressing. Luke Ronan added a sixth with a superb strike from 25 yards, before Aaran Ayres marked his return with the seventh after good work from Rob Smith.
A fantastic team performance all round, with Darragh McGuinness earning Man of the Match for a commanding display at centre-half.

Thanks to everyone who came to support. Next up is Cootehill Harps at St Mary's Park, 3pm.

OMP United U15s booked their place in the next rou OMP United U15s booked their place in the next round of the cup with a deserved 2-0 victory over Dunsaughlin in Blackcastle, Navan, following a disciplined and clinical display.

The home side made the perfect start and were ahead inside five minutes. Ruairi surged down the left wing before delivering a clever cutback into the path of Joe, who calmly side-footed home from six yards with impressive power and precision.

The early goal settled OMP, but Dunsaughlin responded well as the contest developed into an evenly fought encounter. Both teams fashioned half chances, though the OMP defensive pairing of Darragh and Milan stood firm throughout the first half, dealing confidently with everything thrown at them.

OMP doubled their advantage before the interval with an excellent team move. Conor delivered a beautifully weighted diagonal ball into the area where Charlie arrived at the back post to finish smartly and give the hosts a commanding 2-0 lead at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with OMP looking the more threatening side but unable to find the decisive third goal despite creating several promising opportunities.

Dunsaughlin pushed hard in the closing 15 minutes and began to create genuine openings, only to be repeatedly denied by OMP goalkeeper Evan. The shot-stopper produced a series of impressive saves and was a commanding presence throughout, playing a key role in preserving his side’s clean sheet.

OMP’s defensive resolve was further strengthened by substitutes Daniel and Se, who both slotted in superbly at the back after coming on. Daniel in particular produced a vital goal-line clearance — remarkably his second in as many games — to help ensure OMP maintained their clean sheet under late pressure.

In midfield, Ciaran delivered a superb all-round performance and was deservedly named man of the match after controlling the tempo of the game, breaking up attacks, and driving OMP forward throughout the contest.

OMP remained dangerous on the counterattack in the closing stages but could not add to their tally. Nevertheless, the final whistle confirmed a fully deserved 2-0 win as OMP United advanced to the next round of the cup.
OMP United made the short trip to Robinstown Villa OMP United made the short trip to Robinstown Village on a beautiful afternoon for football as they faced Robinstown Reserves in their Division 3A league clash.

Despite a bright opening from OMP, it was the home side who struck first inside 10 minutes. Robinstown broke quickly against the run of play and finished clinically to take an early 1-0 lead.

OMP continued to battle throughout a competitive first half and searched for openings, but a determined Robinstown defence frustrated them for long periods. However, the visitors finally found a breakthrough just before the interval when Patrick McDonald delivered a dangerous low cross into the box, allowing Kevin Jasinski to fire low to the goalkeeper’s right and level the game at 1-1.

The second half saw a far more composed and dominant OMP performance. Controlling possession and dictating the tempo, they began to stretch the Robinstown side as the game wore on.

OMP took the lead when David Connolly produced an excellent square ball across goal for Alex O’Hare, who calmly tapped home from close range.

With momentum now fully in their favour, OMP continued to press and added a third goal soon after. Kevin Jasinski was again at the heart of the move, delivering another dangerous ball across the box for Alex Markey to finish from close range.

OMP rounded off an impressive second-half display late on when substitute Harry Wallace found the net. Jasinski capped off an outstanding individual performance with brilliant wing play, dancing past defenders before setting up Wallace inside the area for a composed finish.

Overall, it was a scrappy but fully deserved victory for OMP United, while credit must also go to Robinstown Reserves for their determination and refusal to give up throughout the contest.

Torro 1–4 OMP

OMP made the short trip to Kilberry on Saturday morning and started brightly, taking the lead inside the opening minute when Micheal delivered a superb cross for Leo to volley home.

Despite plenty of pressure from OMP, Torro equalised midway through the half. Charlie was excellent in goals, while David, Dara T, Jack, Eduardo and Kai were solid at the back throughout.

Leo restored OMP’s lead from the penalty spot after a strong run into the box, before Cian’s dangerous cross was turned into the net to make it 3–1 at halftime.

The second half was a hard-fought battle, but OMP sealed the win when Cian was fouled in the box and Leo completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot to make it 4–1.

Special mentions to Micheal, Cian and Leo, while the joint Men of the Match go to Dara T and Kai for outstanding performances throughout. 👏

Best of luck to Torro for the rest of the season.

Rossin 0 - 1 OMP UTD
Still searching for their first three points of the season, the lads travelled to Rossin Rovers determined to put in a strong performance — and they certainly delivered.

The boys started brightly, playing some excellent football and creating early chances for Daniel, Alex, Brian, and Jack. Despite the pressure, we couldn’t find the breakthrough until a great move involving Mark and Alex led to the opener. Mark played Alex through, and he unselfishly squared the ball to Daniel, whose shot crashed off the crossbar and fell kindly to Brian, who calmly finished low into the bottom corner with his left foot.

Mark and Aala dominated the midfield throughout, while David and Max dealt confidently with everything at the back. Caolan commanded his area brilliantly and gave the team confidence from behind. Going forward, Daniel caused constant problems on the wing, Jack was a continuous threat, and Alex created chaos with his driving runs and dangerous crosses. On another day, Brian could easily have had a hat-trick, but his work rate and determination never dropped.

The second half required a more defensive display as nerves began to creep in, but the lads were more than up to the challenge. Aala, Mark, David, and Max all made vital tackles and clearances, while Caolan remained a safe pair of hands in goal and was rarely troubled. Danny worked tirelessly and was unlucky not to score after a last-ditch tackle from a Rossin defender denied him.

Credit to all the players for their hard work and commitment, and to the parents for their continued support. A fantastic all-round team performance.

Best for OMP: Aala, Daniel, and David.

Cootehill Harps 2–1 OMP First defeat of the seaso Cootehill Harps 2–1 OMP

First defeat of the season away to a very solid Cootehill side.

OMP never really got going in the first half and found themselves 1–0 down midway through the half after some sloppy defending. Despite creating chances, OMP couldn’t find the equaliser before the break and wasted several good opportunities.

The second-half performance was ten times better. OMP got back level 15 minutes after the restart when an excellent cross from Aronas Grikas was headed into his own net by a Cootehill defender.

Game on — and OMP were on top for large spells — but it wasn’t long before Cootehill restored their lead. Once again, sloppy defending allowed the opposition too much time and space to head home their second goal.
OMP were then awarded a penalty after Aronas was brought down in the box, but unfortunately the Cootehill keeper pulled off a great save to keep his side ahead.

The game ended in a disappointing result for OMP, but we go again next week.
Best of luck to Cootehill for the rest of the season.
OMP U15s secured a hard-fought victory over Dunsau OMP U15s secured a hard-fought victory over Dunsaughlin U15s on Wednesday evening in Blackcastle, Navan, with a disciplined defensive display and a clinical second-half finish proving enough to claim all three points.

Dunsaughlin started the stronger of the two sides and enjoyed much of the early possession, creating several half chances as they looked to put the hosts under pressure. OMP, however, remained composed at the back, with Se and Jamie outstanding in defence as they helped weather the early storm.
Gradually, OMP began to grow into the game. Danny’s influence down the right flank gave the home side greater momentum, while the midfield started to gain control of proceedings.

The closest either side came to breaking the deadlock before half-time arrived when Oisin struck a thunderous effort from 25 yards that rattled the crossbar. Lennon reacted quickest to the rebound, but Dunsaughlin managed to scramble clear and keep the sides level at the interval.

OMP made the breakthrough five minutes into the second half. Alex produced an excellent ball over the top which was expertly controlled by Darragh, who had been outstanding throughout the contest, before calmly lifting his finish over the advancing goalkeeper to score what proved to be the decisive goal.
The home side continued to press in search of a second, with Milan, Oisin and David all impressing as OMP maintained their grip on the game and created further opportunities.

Dunsaughlin threw everything forward in the closing stages and came agonisingly close to an equaliser, but OMP goalkeeper Alex produced a magnificent save before man-of-the-match Daniel completed a dramatic goal-line clearance to preserve the lead and seal a memorable victory for the hosts.

OMP White 5-0 Oldcastle

On a rain-soaked Tuesday evening, OMP White produced a fantastic team performance to come away with all three points against a gallant Oldcastle side.

The game started at a frantic pace, with both teams creating chances early on, but it was OMP who opened the scoring when Niall broke through and finished brilliantly to put the hosts ahead. Niall added a second five minutes later to give OMP a comfortable lead.

In goal, Charlie was tested but stood firm throughout, while the back line of Dara T, Jack and Kai dealt excellently with any threat from the Oldcastle forward line.

The third goal arrived from a corner when the ball dropped to Jack, who made no mistake with the finish. OMP added a fourth five minutes before the break when Dara T’s corner was met by Kai, who headed home to send OMP into the interval with a 4-0 lead.

After the break, OMP kept the pressure on with Cian, James, Conor, Daire C and the tireless Micheal causing all sorts of problems and creating plenty of chances for the forward line of Leo, Niall and Padraig.

The fifth goal arrived when Jack finished again from another corner. With Leo, Niall, Padraig and Micheal all going close, it was Micheal who eventually got on the scoresheet with a brilliant finish.

Oldcastle never gave up and when they caught OMP on the break, Charlie raced from his line to make a fantastic save and keep the visitors scoreless.

OMP were not finished yet and when the ball was played through to Leo, he made no mistake with a calm finish to wrap up a fantastic team performance from the lads.

A special mention goes to Niall and Jack, who both bagged braces, while Man of the Match goes to Micheal for his tireless work rate all evening.

Well done lads, and best of luck to Oldcastle for the rest of the season.

Omp United delivered a ruthless attacking performance at St Mary’s Park this afternoon, brushing aside Kentstown Reserves in emphatic fashion despite difficult weather conditions.
The home side started on the front foot and took the lead after 11 minutes when Ryan Tighe finished confidently following excellent work from Sean Kelly.

That opening goal sparked a dominant spell from Omp. Alex O’Hare doubled the advantage on 21 minutes after being picked out by Ciaran Casey, and just two minutes later he struck again, this time finishing neatly from an Ayo Balogun assist.

Ola Bakare added a fourth on 25 minutes after good play from Keith McGibney as Omp’s relentless attacking movement continued to cause problems for the visitors.

McGibney then took centre stage before the break, scoring twice in quick succession. He netted his first on 38 minutes before Sean Kelly registered another assist to help McGibney grab his second on 44 minutes. Kentstown’s difficult first half was capped off by an unfortunate own goal in stoppage time, sending Omp into the interval with a commanding seven-goal lead.
The hosts showed no signs of slowing down after the restart. Ryan Tighe grabbed his second of the afternoon on 48 minutes after being set up by David Connolly.

Connolly then added his own name to the scoresheet on 57 minutes with a composed finish before McGibney completed an excellent hat-trick on the hour mark, finishing from another assist by Ciaran Casey to round off a superb team display.

OMP Reserves came up against a strong Rossin Rovers side in St Mary’s Park today in their fourth league game of the season.
The game started at a fast pace, and it wasn’t long before OMP opened the scoring. On the 10th minute, Cian Cantwell played an excellent pass through to Matthew Kennedy, who drilled the ball past the Rossin goalkeeper to make it 1–0.

OMP doubled their lead shortly afterwards when Kevin Jasinski rounded the keeper and calmly finished to put the home side 2–0 ahead. OMP went into the break with a comfortable advantage, but Rossin came out fighting in the second half.

Rossin pulled one back just five minutes after the restart when OMP switched off defensively and were punished. Ten minutes later, Rossin grabbed an equaliser to make it 2–2, forcing OMP to raise their game again.

OMP regained the lead on the 62nd minute through Alan Cosgrove after a great pass from captain Graham Hill. Just two minutes later, Cosgrove struck again, finishing off a lovely assist from Keelan Hanney to make it 4–2.
OMP thought the game was out of reach for Rossin, but the visitors had other ideas and pulled another goal back to make it 4–3.

However, OMP responded strongly and finished the game in style, adding two more goals to secure an impressive 6–3 victory.
