OMP Under-8s Impress Against Enfield in MDL Clash OMP Under-8s Impress Against Enfield in MDL Clash

OMP United's Under-8s produced an excellent performance against Enfield in the MDL on Friday night, showcasing great teamwork, skill and significant improvement across the pitch.

From the opening whistle, OMP played with confidence and composure, moving the ball well and creating plenty of opportunities. Josh B and Sam K were instrumental in midfield, controlling the tempo of the game with their excellent passing, awareness and ability to keep possession.

Further forward, Finn was on hand to finish off several well-worked moves, rewarding the team's attacking play with some excellent goals.

Elsewhere, Ahmad, Joshua and Philip worked tirelessly throughout the match, contributing both in attack and defence and demonstrating great determination and commitment from start to finish.

The performance highlighted the progress the squad has made, with strong teamwork, intelligent passing and a willingness to work for one another evident throughout the game.

Overall, it was a fantastic team effort from OMP United's Under-8s and a display that reflected the continued development and hard work of the players and coaches alike.
OMP United travelled to Virginia and came away wit OMP United travelled to Virginia and came away with a well-earned victory after a competitive and entertaining encounter.

OMP started the brighter of the two sides and immediately put Virginia under pressure with their high tempo and attacking intent. The early dominance paid dividends when Darragh opened the scoring, before Sean doubled OMP's advantage with a well-taken finish.

The visitors continued to control proceedings and were rewarded with two further goals before the break. Tom added his name to the scoresheet, while Darragh grabbed his second of the game to cap an impressive first-half display. Virginia managed to pull one goal back before halftime, but OMP went into the interval with a deserved cushion after an excellent opening 45 minutes.

The second half saw OMP dictate much of the play, enjoying long spells of possession and creating several opportunities to extend their lead. Despite their control, Virginia remained competitive and mounted a late comeback attempt, scoring twice in quick succession to set up a tense finish.

However, OMP's defence stood firm under pressure and successfully saw out the closing stages to secure the victory.

In midfield, Cian C and Jayden C were outstanding, controlling the tempo of the game and providing the platform for OMP's attacking play. Up front, Darragh was a constant threat and can count himself unlucky not to complete a deserved hat-trick after an impressive performance that yielded two goals.

Overall, it was a strong team display from OMP United, who showed quality going forward and resilience at the back to claim an important away win.

Final score: Virginia 3–4 OMP United.
U15 Premier Division Kentstown 4-5 OMP Utd OMP st U15 Premier Division
Kentstown 4-5 OMP Utd

OMP started on the front foot, pressing high up the pitch in search of an early goal. Their positive approach paid off when a superb diagonal ball found Ceilum, who cut inside and fired into the top corner to give OMP a deserved lead.

OMP looked in control for large periods of the first half, but Kentstown capitalised on a break in play and found the equaliser to make it 1-1. OMP continued to dominate possession and came close to restoring their advantage on several occasions, but the sides went into the break level.

The visitors came out strongly again in the second half and took the lead from a corner, with Dan curling the ball directly into the net to make it 2-1. Kentstown refused to give in and responded with another equaliser. The game then swung further in the home side's favour when David was sent off for OMP 15 minutes into the second half.

With the extra man, Kentstown piled on the pressure and moved 3-2 ahead. OMP were under severe pressure with ten men, but a few tactical tweaks helped them settle back into the game. Their resilience was rewarded when Ceilum grabbed his second goal to level the match at 3-3.

Kentstown struck again to lead 4-3 with around ten minutes remaining, but OMP were not finished. Pressing high from the halfway line, they won possession and worked the ball to Charlie, who squared for Noah to calmly slot home the equaliser.

OMP continued to push for a winner right to the end and earned a late corner. Noah stepped up from the left side and delivered a sensational effort straight into the top corner to put OMP 5-4 ahead. OMP then saw out the closing minutes to complete a remarkable comeback victory.

The resilience shown by the team from start to finish was outstanding. Their never-say-die attitude, combined with some excellent football, proved decisive in the end. Credit must also go to Kentstown, who were excellent throughout and played their part in a thrilling contest.

Best for OMP: Adam, Jack M, Hugh, Noah and Ciaran.

Match Report: OMP United U13s 5–2 Parkvilla U13s D Match Report: OMP United U13s 5–2 Parkvilla U13s Division 1

OMP United U13s produced a stunning second-half comeback to secure a well-deserved 5–2 victory over Parkvilla U13s in Division 1 action on Sunday.

The visitors found themselves 2–0 down at half-time after a closely contested opening period. Despite competing well and creating several opportunities, OMP were unable to convert their chances and went into the break with a two-goal deficit.

The second half, however, belonged to OMP. The lads emerged with renewed determination, raising the intensity from the restart and quickly taking control of the game.

Up front, Sean and Ben set the tone with relentless pressing, forcing mistakes from the Parkvilla defence and goalkeeper. At the back, John and Shay were outstanding, maintaining a strong defensive line while providing excellent distribution into midfield.
In the centre of the pitch, Ethan and Eoin began to dictate the tempo, moving the ball with confidence and purpose as OMP's dominance grew.

The comeback began when Eoin found the net to pull a goal back. Ben then levelled the contest before Aaron struck to put OMP ahead. Ben continued his excellent afternoon by adding two more goals to complete a superb hat-trick and seal an impressive victory.
Ben was a deserving Player of the Match, not only for his three goals but also for his tireless work rate and relentless energy throughout the game.

A fantastic team performance and a brilliant display of character from the lads to recover from two goals down. The coaches were extremely proud of the effort, attitude, and determination shown by every player.

OMP 2nds booked their place in the next round of the Reserve Cup with an impressive 4–1 victory over Cootehill Harps.

OMP started brightly and controlled possession from the opening whistle. Despite their dominance, it was Cootehill who opened the scoring in the 15th minute when a free kick was headed home at the back post.

The response was immediate. Luke Ronan delivered an excellent cross into the box, and captain Graham Hill rose highest to power a header into the net and level the score at 1–1. OMP continued to dictate play for the remainder of the first half and went into the break on top.

Ten minutes into the second half, a number of substitutions gave OMP fresh energy and helped swing the game even further in their favour. Luke Ronan was once again the provider, registering his second assist of the evening as Aaran Ayres calmly slotted past the Cootehill goalkeeper to make it 2–1.

Just five minutes later, Ronan claimed his third assist from a perfectly delivered corner kick, with Michael Guihean heading home to extend OMP's lead to 3–1.

OMP were now in complete control, and with ten minutes remaining, Luke Ronan capped off a Man of the Match performance by providing his fourth assist of the game. His cross found Aaran Ayres, who finished confidently for his second goal of the match and OMP's fourth of the evening.

The final whistle confirmed a deserved 4–1 victory and progression to the next round of the Reserve Cup. Attention now turns to Wednesday night's league fixture away to Albion.

OMP would also like to wish Cootehill Harps the very best of luck for the remainder of their season.

OMP United Reserves 7-2 Balrath FC A massive thre OMP United Reserves 7-2 Balrath FC

A massive three points for OMP Reserves as they produced an outstanding performance to defeat league leaders Balrath FC.

OMP dominated from the start and took the lead through Kevin Jasinski before he quickly added a second after a great through ball from captain Graham Hilly. Hilly then got on the scoresheet himself, with Michael Guihean providing the assist, to make it 3-0 before Balrath pulled one back before half-time.

The second half continued in the same fashion as Jasinski completed his hat-trick, followed by a Balrath own goal forced by OMP's relentless pressing. Luke Ronan added a sixth with a superb strike from 25 yards, before Aaran Ayres marked his return with the seventh after good work from Rob Smith.
A fantastic team performance all round, with Darragh McGuinness earning Man of the Match for a commanding display at centre-half.

OMP United U15s booked their place in the next rou OMP United U15s booked their place in the next round of the cup with a deserved 2-0 victory over Dunsaughlin in Blackcastle, Navan, following a disciplined and clinical display.

The home side made the perfect start and were ahead inside five minutes. Ruairi surged down the left wing before delivering a clever cutback into the path of Joe, who calmly side-footed home from six yards with impressive power and precision.

The early goal settled OMP, but Dunsaughlin responded well as the contest developed into an evenly fought encounter. Both teams fashioned half chances, though the OMP defensive pairing of Darragh and Milan stood firm throughout the first half, dealing confidently with everything thrown at them.

OMP doubled their advantage before the interval with an excellent team move. Conor delivered a beautifully weighted diagonal ball into the area where Charlie arrived at the back post to finish smartly and give the hosts a commanding 2-0 lead at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with OMP looking the more threatening side but unable to find the decisive third goal despite creating several promising opportunities.

Dunsaughlin pushed hard in the closing 15 minutes and began to create genuine openings, only to be repeatedly denied by OMP goalkeeper Evan. The shot-stopper produced a series of impressive saves and was a commanding presence throughout, playing a key role in preserving his side’s clean sheet.

OMP’s defensive resolve was further strengthened by substitutes Daniel and Se, who both slotted in superbly at the back after coming on. Daniel in particular produced a vital goal-line clearance — remarkably his second in as many games — to help ensure OMP maintained their clean sheet under late pressure.

In midfield, Ciaran delivered a superb all-round performance and was deservedly named man of the match after controlling the tempo of the game, breaking up attacks, and driving OMP forward throughout the contest.

OMP remained dangerous on the counterattack in the closing stages but could not add to their tally. Nevertheless, the final whistle confirmed a fully deserved 2-0 win as OMP United advanced to the next round of the cup.
OMP United made the short trip to Robinstown Villa OMP United made the short trip to Robinstown Village on a beautiful afternoon for football as they faced Robinstown Reserves in their Division 3A league clash.

Despite a bright opening from OMP, it was the home side who struck first inside 10 minutes. Robinstown broke quickly against the run of play and finished clinically to take an early 1-0 lead.

OMP continued to battle throughout a competitive first half and searched for openings, but a determined Robinstown defence frustrated them for long periods. However, the visitors finally found a breakthrough just before the interval when Patrick McDonald delivered a dangerous low cross into the box, allowing Kevin Jasinski to fire low to the goalkeeper’s right and level the game at 1-1.

The second half saw a far more composed and dominant OMP performance. Controlling possession and dictating the tempo, they began to stretch the Robinstown side as the game wore on.

OMP took the lead when David Connolly produced an excellent square ball across goal for Alex O’Hare, who calmly tapped home from close range.

With momentum now fully in their favour, OMP continued to press and added a third goal soon after. Kevin Jasinski was again at the heart of the move, delivering another dangerous ball across the box for Alex Markey to finish from close range.

OMP rounded off an impressive second-half display late on when substitute Harry Wallace found the net. Jasinski capped off an outstanding individual performance with brilliant wing play, dancing past defenders before setting up Wallace inside the area for a composed finish.

Overall, it was a scrappy but fully deserved victory for OMP United, while credit must also go to Robinstown Reserves for their determination and refusal to give up throughout the contest.

⚽ Alex O’Hare (assist: David Connolly)

Torro 1–4 OMP

OMP made the short trip to Kilberry on Saturday morning and started brightly, taking the lead inside the opening minute when Micheal delivered a superb cross for Leo to volley home.

Despite plenty of pressure from OMP, Torro equalised midway through the half. Charlie was excellent in goals, while David, Dara T, Jack, Eduardo and Kai were solid at the back throughout.

Leo restored OMP’s lead from the penalty spot after a strong run into the box, before Cian’s dangerous cross was turned into the net to make it 3–1 at halftime.

The second half was a hard-fought battle, but OMP sealed the win when Cian was fouled in the box and Leo completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot to make it 4–1.

Special mentions to Micheal, Cian and Leo, while the joint Men of the Match go to Dara T and Kai for outstanding performances throughout. 👏

Best of luck to Torro for the rest of the season.

Rossin 0 - 1 OMP UTD
Still searching for their first three points of the season, the lads travelled to Rossin Rovers determined to put in a strong performance — and they certainly delivered.

The boys started brightly, playing some excellent football and creating early chances for Daniel, Alex, Brian, and Jack. Despite the pressure, we couldn’t find the breakthrough until a great move involving Mark and Alex led to the opener. Mark played Alex through, and he unselfishly squared the ball to Daniel, whose shot crashed off the crossbar and fell kindly to Brian, who calmly finished low into the bottom corner with his left foot.

Mark and Aala dominated the midfield throughout, while David and Max dealt confidently with everything at the back. Caolan commanded his area brilliantly and gave the team confidence from behind. Going forward, Daniel caused constant problems on the wing, Jack was a continuous threat, and Alex created chaos with his driving runs and dangerous crosses. On another day, Brian could easily have had a hat-trick, but his work rate and determination never dropped.

The second half required a more defensive display as nerves began to creep in, but the lads were more than up to the challenge. Aala, Mark, David, and Max all made vital tackles and clearances, while Caolan remained a safe pair of hands in goal and was rarely troubled. Danny worked tirelessly and was unlucky not to score after a last-ditch tackle from a Rossin defender denied him.

Credit to all the players for their hard work and commitment, and to the parents for their continued support. A fantastic all-round team performance.

Best for OMP: Aala, Daniel, and David.
Best of luck to Chloe, Anna and Sophia tomorrow in Best of luck to Chloe, Anna and Sophia tomorrow in Kilkenny as they represent the NERL 2014s Team in the SFAI Interleague Shield Final! ⚽🏆
